vacuum heat treatment furnace principle
Vacuum heat treatment furnace is a kind of thermal equipment that uses vacuum heat treatment technology to process workpieces. Vacuum heat treatment technology is a combination of vacuum technology and heat treatment technology. All or part of the heat treatment process is carried out in vacuum. Vacuum heat treatment furnace has high thermal efficiency, can achieve rapid temperature rise and cooling, can achieve no decarburization, no oxidation and no carburization, can remove scales on the surface of the workpiece, and also has the function of degreasing and degassing, thus achieving the effect of surface bright purification.
Heat treatment workpiece heating in the furnace is relatively slow, the internal thermal temperature difference is relatively small, the thermal stress is also small, so it will be easier to deformation. So what’s the use of such a vacuum heat treatment furnace?
Vacuum heat treatment furnace is mainly used in annealing, tempering and carburizing of high chromium, rolls, steel balls, alloy steel and other mechanical parts. It can also realize oil quenching, gas quenching, water quenching and nitrate quenching in quenching process. It can also carry out vacuum sintering, brazing and surface treatment.
Ordinary metal materials are heated in the air furnace, because there are oxygen, carbon dioxide and water vapor in the air, and they will oxidize the metal, so that a layer of oxide film or oxide skin appears on the surface of the heated metal, completely losing the metallic luster of the reason. At the same time, these gases will react with carbon in the metal to decarbonize its surface. If there is carbon monoxide or methane in the furnace, it will also increase carbon on the metal surface.
In addition to those mentioned above, some metals with more active chemical properties will absorb these gases besides oxides, nitrides and hydrides when heated in an air furnace, and diffuse them into the interior of the metal, thus deteriorating the properties of the metal materials, in order to solve this problem. Generally, there is a certain amount of processing allowance before processing the workpiece. After heat treatment, decarbonization layer and oxide layer are removed by processing.
