After decades of development, vacuum protection has made a vacuum furnace suitable for processing various materials to meet the needs of industrial and agricultural production, aerospace and other parts. Because of the special position of vacuum furnace in heat treatment equipment, it has become the primary task for us to fully understand and utilize vacuum furnace to study its development and rely on the advantages of processing parts. According to the different vacuum degree in the furnace, the vacuum furnace can be divided into three types: low vacuum, medium vacuum and high vacuum.
According to the cooling medium used in the vacuum furnace, the vacuum furnace is divided into oil-cooled vacuum furnace, gas quenched oil-cooled vacuum furnace, nitrate bath vacuum protection, water quenched vacuum furnace and gas-cooled vacuum furnace.
Usually in medium and high vacuum state, the vacuum degree is divided into 1.33-0.133Pa and 1.33 x10-2-1.33 x10-3 3Pa.
According to the structure, it can be divided into single room, double room, three cases and continuous operation furnace. Generally speaking, vacuum furnace is composed of furnace body and vacuum system, cooling system, heating and control system.
Considering the difference of material quality of parts, the hardenability is different greatly, and the cooling performance of the selected quenching medium is quite different. Therefore, the high alloy steel has high hardenability, even if the cooling rate is low, the required heat treatment technology is obtained by gas quenching vacuum furnace.
Oil-cooled vacuum furnace is used for vacuum treatment of low alloy steel or tool steel.
For hardenability parts such as carbon steel, water-cooled vacuum furnace is used.

Vacuum Furnace Characteristics
(1)The equipment has high degree of automation, fully realizes mechanization or automation operation, and has self-locking function to protect the safe use of vacuum furnace.

(5)No oxidation, decarbonization and bright surface of the workpiece ensure that the chemical composition and surface state of the workpiece surface remain unchanged, reduce the surface defects of heat treatment and low production cost.
(6)There is no danger of hydrogen embrittlement for parts. The shortcomings of vacuum furnace are that the workpiece is heated by radiation, so the heating speed is slow, the quantity of furnace is small, it is not suitable for mass production, the production cost is high, and the one-time investment is large. In addition, some alloy elements will evaporate in vacuum state, and it is necessary to fill nitrogen in time at high temperature to avoid this situation.
