What is the graphitization furnace high temperature and high pressure method of graphite
Because of its high temperature resistance and high strength, graphite is often used in smelting industry to make graphite crucible and lining of metallurgical furnace. The most important thing is that graphite has excellent conductivity, so it is used as the basic material of electrode materials and composites. This makes it possible to realize high value utilization in high-tech field. Graphite is widely used in energy storage equipment because of its high reversible capacity, good conductivity, good charge discharge potential distribution and relatively low cost. After graphitization in 2600 ℃ graphitization furnace, the graphitization degree of petroleum coke is as high as 78.8%. When it is used as anode material for lithium ion battery, the first charge discharge specific capacity reaches 326.1 Ma · h · g-1, The coulomb efficiency is 78.8%, which shows excellent electrochemical performance;
Using bituminous coal as precursor, graphite materials were prepared by carbonization and graphitization at 2000-2800 ℃. The results show that the microstructure of synthetic graphite materials strongly depends on the graphitization temperature of graphitization furnace. Synthetic graphite is graphitized at 2800 ℃ in a graphitization furnace. It has a fully ordered layered structure, high degree of graphitization, large surface area and well-developed mesopores. It provides a good way for electrochemical intercalation and deintercalation of lithium ions in carbon matrix.
Two kinds of anthracite with different characteristics were used to prepare graphite by heat treatment in the temperature range of 2400-2800 ℃ graphitization furnace. The electrochemical performance of graphite as anode in lithium ion battery was tested. There is a good linear correlation between the crystal parameters of two kinds of anthracite graphite materials. In this way, graphite can be mass produced in vacuum furnace at high temperature, and the produced graphite also has a good crystallinity. However, this kind of graphitization method needs to be carried out at a temperature above 2000 ℃, which has high energy consumption. The waste generated in the graphitization process of graphitization furnace will cause air pollution.
What’s more, this method is selective for raw materials. It is only suitable for carbonaceous materials such as petroleum coke and pitch coke whose carbon atoms are layered in the basic unit. However, hard carbons such as resin carbon and glass carbon, whose structures are porous and disordered, can’t be graphitized even above 2000 ℃.
