Vacuum Technology and Machinery Manufacturing
Vacuum heat treatment: Vacuum heat treatment is a combination of vacuum technology and heat treatment process. Because of its non-oxidation, non-decarbonization, bright surface, small deformation, pollution-free and energy-saving advantages, it has developed rapidly. Vacuum heat treatment is not only used to treat active refractory metals, but also widely used in quenching, tempering, melting and annealing of high-speed steel, tool steel, die steel, bearing steel and heat-resistant steel. For example, when tool steel is quenched in vacuum, its deformation is 1/3-1/5 of that of salt bath quenching tool. When vacuum quenching tool is used to process workpiece, its surface roughness is better than that of salt bath quenching tool 1-2, and its service life can be increased by 3-4 times.
Vacuum brazing: Vacuum brazing is mainly used for joining aluminum and its alloys, superalloys, refractory metals, cemented carbides, ceramics and other materials with poor solderability. For example, in gas separation equipment and petrochemical equipment, the heat exchanger is made of aluminium alloy, which has the advantages of small size, light weight, high efficiency, compact structure and durability. Compared with the tube-wound and tubular heat exchangers, its volume and weight only account for about 1/4. Compared with the former salt furnace brazing furnace, the aluminium brazing without vacuum flux has the advantages of good product quality, low cost, short production cycle, no corrosion, no cleaning after welding, and power saving of 75-80%. Due to the maturity and development of vacuum aluminium brazing technology, most of the heat exchangers used in foreign automobiles and aircraft have adopted this advanced technology.
Vacuum coated cutting tools: In recent ten years, TiN plating on high-speed steel cutting tools by physical vapor deposition (PVD) is very popular, which is called “tool revolution”. There are many methods of tool ion plating, among which arc ionicity is the most rapidly developed one, which is to evaporate metal directly on solid cathode target by arc discharge. The evaporated titanium target is connected with the cathode, and the vacuum chamber is the anode. When the trigger motor suddenly separates from the cathode target, an arc is generated, which produces a strong luminous cathode spot on the cathode surface. The material in the spot evaporates and ionizes instantaneously. The main advantages of arc ion plating are high deposition rate, no molten pool and cathode target can be arranged in any direction according to the shape of the workpiece, which greatly simplifies the fixture. A large number of production tests show that the life of coated tool is 3-8 times longer than that of plated tool, and the cutting speed is 25-30% higher. Especially for the hard-to-machine material HB280-320, TiN extractable coating shows its superior performance.
