Vacuum Furnace Replacing Salt Bath Furnace
Oxidative corrosion is one of the fatal defects of products. Many companies use salt furnace quenching for heat treatment of many products. When the rainy season comes every year, the parts must be surface treated within a week. Otherwise, the residual salt will lead to corrosion of the workpiece, which will lead to the quality problems of batch scrap. In this season, surface treatment is usually used immediately after heat treatment to solve this problem. However, due to the large output and variety of products, this practice in rainy season increases the workload of surface treatment workshop, resulting in pressure on production arrangements. In order to alleviate this pressure and achieve balanced production, enterprises should introduce vacuum furnace instead of salt bath furnace.
Parts Processing Process Analysis and New Equipment Support Ability
The products are thin-walled, complex-shaped parts with folded edges and blind holes. After heat treatment, oxidative decarbonization is not allowed on the surface. The original process is heated by salt furnace. Although decarbonization can be effectively prevented, residual salt often resides on the surface of the workpiece. Owing to the difficulty of thorough cleaning, waste products are caused by oxidation corrosion.
When the workpiece is heated in vacuum, the grease on the surface can be removed, the oxide can be decomposed and the surface can be activated to improve the surface quality. Vacuum furnace can ensure the vacuum condition of high vacuum degree less than 10Pa. Firstly, it fully meets the requirement of heating and quenching without oxidizing decarbonization of workpiece; secondly, the equipment is controlled by program to automatically execute the set technological parameters, eliminating the influence of human factors; thirdly, the temperature control system adopts PID to adjust the automatic temperature control, and the furnace temperature uniformity can be controlled in the range of (+2 C), thus ensuring the workpiece quenching. Fire can be uniformly heated, the processed surface is smooth and non-oxidized, and the shot peening treatment after heat treatment can be omitted, which reduces the workload of the surface treatment workshop by reducing the process. In addition, the simple operation of the equipment reduces the number of operators, but also improves the work efficiency. At the same time, the environmental pollution caused by salt furnace treatment was eliminated and the working environment of operators was improved.
Vacuum furnace replaces salt bath furnace for heat treatment of various parts. Vacuum furnace not only improves the uniformity of heat treatment hardness of parts, but also improves the surface quality of parts. It realizes non-oxidative quenching of heat treatment and solves the problem of oxidative corrosion waste caused by residual salt retention fundamentally. It also significantly improves the efficiency of heat treatment, greatly improves the working environment of workers, and reduces the labor intensity of workers. The application of vacuum equipment in heat treatment of parts has changed the environmental pollution caused by salt furnaces, conformed to the advocacy of “green manufacturing” in mechanical industry, and made due contributions to the protection of the common natural environment of mankind from the perspective of enterprises.
