The Role of Heat Treatment in The Reducer
Heat treatment is a very important link in the manufacture of reducer, but many users do not understand the role of this heat treatment, so in order to facilitate everyone’s understanding, the following is an introduction to its role.
1. Surface quenching: common surface quenching methods include high frequency quenching and flame quenching. High-frequency quenching is generally suitable for some small-sized gears, while flame quenching is suitable for large-sized gears. The quenched part of the surface quenching includes the bottom of the tooth root, so the effect will be better. The commonly used material for surface hardening is steel with a carbon content of 0.35% to 0.5%, so the hardness of the tooth surface will be higher.
2. Carburizing and quenching: carburized and quenched gears have a relatively large load-bearing capacity, but gear grinding must be used to solve the degeneration caused by heat treatment, so as to ensure its accuracy.
3. Nitriding: The use of nitriding can ensure that the gear of the reducer can achieve high tooth surface hardness and wear resistance under the condition of less degeneration. After heat treatment, it can be improved without finishing finishing. Load capacity, which is very important for gears that are not easy to grind.
4. Combination of hardness of meshing gears: When the large and small gears are all soft tooth surfaces, the tooth surface hardness of the pinion gear will be greater than that of the large gear. When the large and small gears have hard tooth surfaces and the hardness is relatively high, the hardness of the two gears is the same.
