Selection of Vacuum quenching Oil for Heat Treatment
The quenching oil is used as the cooling medium in the vacuum quenching process which is called vacuum quenching oil. Vacuum quenching means that metal parts are heated and quenched in a vacuum state [(10~70)×(10-2~10-3) Pa], which means that the entire heating and quenching process is at a very low pressure. As a vacuum quenching oil, it must have a lower ultimate pressure, less evaporation loss and good thermal stability. This requires a deep refining depth of the base oil and a narrow fraction, which must be vacuum degassed, otherwise it cannot meet the requirements for application. Because it is heated and quenched under a certain degree of vacuum, the physical properties of the oil have changed, such as boiling point, thermal conductivity, etc., which makes the cooling performance of the oil worse. Therefore, vacuum quenching oil is required to have good cooling capacity, that is, to ensure that the Quenching under high vacuum can make the parts have certain hardening ability. Generally, oil-soluble polymer and other ashless polymer are added to the vacuum quenching oil as the refrigerant (or cooling performance improver), so that the critical cooling rate of the vacuum quenching oil can be at a higher vacuum Realize under the degree. Because the parts are heated and quenched under a very high vacuum, this state ensures that the metal parts cannot be oxidized during the heating process. Since the surface of the parts after vacuum quenching is required to be bright. Bright additives must be added to the vacuum quenching oil.
The cooling performance of quenching oil must find an optimal combination between the required hardness (fast cooling rate is required) and no cracks for the materials are allowed. The heat treatment deformation is controlled within a reasonable minimum range (the cooling rate is slow). This contradictory cooling rate requirement is a requirement for different temperature ranges, which provides a direction for the development of heat treatment quenching oil. In view of the limitation of testing conditions, in the heat treatment production practice of the factory, we can only choose a rough range of quenching medium based on general knowledge and experience and then use experiments to verify it.
Application scope and recommendation of vacuum quenching oil
This product is made of refined Daqing paraffin base oil as base oil and added with high-quality additives such as cooling, anti-oxidation and brightening. The product complies with the SH0564-93 standard.
This product is suitable for quenching of bearing steel, die steel, tool steel, large and medium aviation structural steel and other steels. It has the characteristics of low saturated vapor pressure, good cooling performance and bright surface after quenching the workpiece. Operating temperature: #1 is 20-80℃, and #2 is 20-110℃.
