Process Setting of Brazing Temperature
Needle welding temperature is one of the most important process parameters in the welding process. At the brazing temperature, in addition to the brazing filler metal melting, filling and interacting with the base metal to form a joint, some welding methods (such as furnace brazing, etc.) can also complete the post-welding heat treatment process (such as solution treatment). etc.) to improve the performance of brazed joints.
If the brazing temperature is too high, it is easy to cause excessive interaction between the solder and the base metal, resulting in the erosion of the base metal, resulting in a brittle metal layer, which deteriorates the mechanical properties of the joint and makes the base metal brittle.
If the brazing heating temperature is low, the flow and penetration of the brazing material are insufficient, so that the joint gap is not easy to be filled, thus forming a bad joint.
Vacuum Brazing Solder-How should the brazing temperature be determined?
Generally speaking, the brazing temperature should be appropriately higher than the melting point of the filler metal, which is usually set as 25~60°C higher than the liquidus temperature of the filler metal.
On the one hand, a higher temperature is used to improve the wetting and caulking of the solder, and the needle material and the base metal can fully interact, thereby improving the strength of the joint;
On the other hand, it avoids the evaporation of low-boiling point components in the solder that may be caused by excessive temperature and the erosion caused by excessive interaction between the base metal and the solder, resulting in the formation of brittle compounds and intergranular infiltration, etc., thus avoiding the decrease of joint strength. .
In addition, for some brazing methods (such as furnace brazing, etc.), the requirements of the material heat treatment specification should also be considered when determining the brazing temperature, so that the brazing and heat treatment processes can be completed in the same heating and cooling cycle. This not only saves man-hours, but also avoids the adverse consequences that may be caused by post-weld heat treatment.
Vacuum Brazing Solder-Is the principle of determining the brazing temperature the same for different solders?
Different solders require different temperature ranges above the melting point of the solder itself, and sometimes even lower than the melting point of the solder itself. For the solder with strong interaction with the base metal, a new alloy will be formed due to the great change in its composition during the filling process. At this time, the determination of the brazing temperature should be based on the melting point of the new alloy formed in the brazing joint. in accordance with.
