O1 Gas Quenching Furnace
O1 die steel, that is, O1 American standard non-deformation oil steel, the best oil-hardened tool steel.
1. Product Performance
O1 die steel is widely used. O1 steel has good processing properties, good wear resistance, O1 heat treatment performance is stable, and dimensional deformation is small, but its toughness and corrosion resistance are weak. Commonly used in metal molds such as punching dies, stamping dies, bending dies, drawing dies, perforation punches, finishing dies, etc.
O1 This is an excellent steel that is widely used. It can be used as a blade material to produce a very tough and deep-sharpened blade. Both Randall Knives and Mad Dog use 01. O1: Oil-Hardening types of tool steels are the most widely used, and the best of them is O1 type. Its high manganese accompanied by chromium and tungsten can increase the hardening energy, so that the steel does not need to be severely water quenched. It can also be hardened to a high hardness (HRc62) level with the oil quenching of 鵹鵐. O1 steel has good workability, but its toughness and endurance are weak. The blade made with it can be well qualified for daily use; and the heat treatment is easy. 01 Strong blade retention. Generally speaking, 01 can be polished very finely. It is very tough and can be polished with confidence.

The selection of quenching speed should always be considered comprehensively (Figure 1). In order to obtain the best microstructure and mold performance, the quenching speed should be rapid. However, the quenching speed is slow and the deformation can be minimized. If the quenching speed is slow, the temperature difference between the surface and the core of the part is smaller. This is extremely important when quenching in the martensite range below the Ms temperature. The formation of martensite will increase the volume and stress of the material, which is why the quenching cooling should stop before reaching room temperature (usually 50°C~70°C). However, if the quenching speed is too slow, especially for thick-walled parts, the microstructure may undergo undesirable transformation, resulting in poor mold performance.
