Graphitization furnace is mainly used for high temperature treatment such as purification of graphite powder. Its operating temperature is as high as 2800 C. High production efficiency, energy saving and power saving. With on-line temperature measurement and control system, the temperature in the furnace can be monitored in real time and adjusted automatically.
Characteristic of natural flake graphite: Graphite is a carbon group element and a crystal of carbon element. According to the different crystallinity of graphite, it can be divided into crystalline graphite (flaky) and cryptocrystalline graphite (earth graphite) in industry. Graphite minerals belong to hexagonal system, layered structure, special atomic structure, and make graphite have a series of characteristics:
A. High temperature resistance: natural flake graphite is one of the most heat-resistant materials at present. The highest temperature can reach 3800℃, and even the weight loss of graphite under ultra-high temperature arc is the smallest. At 2000℃, the strength of graphite can be doubled.
B. Conductivity and thermal conductivity: Graphite is 100 times more conductive than non-metallic materials. Its thermal conductivity not only exceeds that of steel, iron, lead and other metal materials, but also decreases with the increase of temperature. Even at extremely high temperatures, graphite is in an adiabatic state.
C. Lubrication: The lubrication performance of graphite depends on the size of graphite flakes. The larger the flakes, the smaller the friction coefficient, the better the lubrication performance.
D. Chemical stability: Graphite has good chemical stability at room temperature. It can resist acid, alkali and organic solvent corrosion.
E. Plasticity: Graphite has good toughness and can be rolled into thin sheets.
F. Thermal shock resistance: Graphite can withstand drastic changes in temperature without destroying when it is used at high temperature. When the temperature changes abruptly, the volume of graphite changes little and cracks will not occur. Use of graphite: Graphite has been widely used in metallurgy, machinery, petroleum, chemical industry, nuclear industry, national defense and other fields because of its special properties.
Refractories: In the smelting industry, graphite crucibles, protective agents for ingots and magnesia-carbon bricks for lining of smelting furnaces are made from graphite.
Conductive materials: In the electrical industry, graphite is widely used as electrodes, brushes, rods, carbon tubes and coatings for TV picture tubes.
Wear-resistant materials and lubricants: In many mechanical equipment, graphite is used as wear-resistant and lubricating material. It can slide at a speed of 100m/s in the temperature range of -200-2000℃ without or with less lubricating oil.
Sealing material: Use flexible graphite as piston ring gasket and sealing ring of centrifugal pump, water turbine, steam turbine and equipment for conveying corrosive medium.
Corrosion Resistant Material: Graphite is used to make utensils, pipes and equipment. It can resist the corrosion of various corrosive gases and liquids. It is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, hydrometallurgy and other sectors.
Thermal insulation, high temperature resistance and radiation protection materials: Graphite can be used as neutron retarder in nuclear reactor, rocket nozzle, missile nose cone, aerospace equipment parts, thermal insulation materials, radiation protection materials, etc.
