MIM Binder
Binders for injection molding are generally composed of binders, lubricants and plasticizers. The binder is mainly the bonding powder to keep the billet with a certain strength and thermal flow properties: the lubricant is mainly to increase the lubricity between the particles, reduce the friction resistance, increase the fluidity, and prevent the injection molding device and the billet from bonding; the plasticizer is mainly It softens the adhesive.
In the metal powder injection molding process, the binder has two most basic functions to enhance the flow performance and maintain the shape of the blank. In order to achieve the above-mentioned requirements, the binder needs to meet four conditions? ① Good formability (mainly refers to the good formability of the feed); ② Good degreasing property (mainly refers to the easy decomposition of heating); ③ Good mold release (mainly refers to The blank does not collapse after demolding); ④ Good anti-deformation (mainly refers to the blank after degreasing, the relative density of metal powder and ceramic powder is higher than that of ceramic powder, so it is easy to deform after degreasing).
The main binder is usually composed of the following materials with good thermal fluidity: polyethylene, polypropylene, EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) resin, EEA (ethylene ethyl acrylate copolymer) resin, polystyrene, etc.
The secondary binder is usually composed of the following materials with good degreasing properties: polystyrene, APP (random polyphenylene), methacrylic resin, polymer with carved bonds (polyacetal, cellulose), etc.
Lubricants: paraffin, microcrystalline paraffin, hexyl paraffin, amino paraffin, modified paraffin, stearic acid, etc.
Plasticizer: phthalate series (methyl, ethyl, octyl, butyl).
