Kerosene vapor phase drying equipment (KVPD) is mainly used for the drying of 110KV and above ultra-high voltage transformers, reactors, etc. The basic principle is: liquid kerosene is evaporated by heating. The high-temperature kerosene vapor enters the vacuum tank, adheres to the workpiece, condenses and releases the latent heat of condensation (about 306.6KJ/KG), and the workpiece is heated. The condensed kerosene will be collected and transported to the evaporator to be heated again. In this way, the workpiece will be continuously heated to evaporate water. Water vapor should be discharged under vacuum conditions. Finally, the workpiece should be completely dry.

1. Kerosene vapor is used as a heating medium, which can convection heat and release heat through condensation. Condensation will be more intense at low temperature, so the temperature of the workpiece can be uniform

2. The condensed liquid kerosene will cover the surface of the workpiece and exchange heat. So the thermal efficiency is much higher

3. Since the saturation pressure of kerosene is much lower than that of water but higher than that of transformer oil, kerosene can evaporate quickly under high vacuum conditions without affecting the diffusion coefficient of water

4. Vacuum and oxygen-free heating, the insulation material will not age. At the same time, the partial pressure of water vapor will increase to 98000Pa, so the water will evaporate faster

5. Condensed kerosene easily penetrates into the workpiece, accelerates heat conduction, and makes the deep temperature uniform

6. Kerosene is a good cleaning solvent. It can clean the workpiece. This is a special function of KVPD. So KVPD is very suitable for transformer repair.
