Gas turbine castings have complex structure, poor sequential solidification performance, poor complementary shrinkage, easy to produce shrinkage cavity and porosity.However, gas turbine castings are prone to crack under high temperature and pressure due to some defects such as porosity, slag inclusion and crack.Therefore, it is necessary to improve casting technology and improve casting quality.In this context, CAE simulation technology is introduced as an auxiliary design technology for the casting process, so as to improve the feasibility of the casting process and shorten the research and development cycle. To obtain high-quality castings, foundry enterprises must understand the solidification process after liquid metal filling and the formation process and causes of casting defects.Using computer visual simulation technology, we can find these design defects which can not be observed from the outside.CAE software can be used to simulate the solidification process of castings, so that the influence of design scheme on casting quality can be understood in the riser and chill stage of casting design.At the same time, it can also understand the role of molding materials (molding sand, heat preservation agent, chill iron) on the solidification process of the casting, so as to predict the shrinkage cavity, shrinkage porosity, sticky sand and other defects, and take measures to prevent defects in advance.
Molten steel melting and casting system
EAF+LF and auxiliary technological process are adopted in the smelting of steel castings for large gas turbines. The key process is real-time computerized control, and the compliance rate of molten steel composition is 100%.Casting system design: adopt the method of scattered multi-point inlet, and the inner runner is injected from the bottom of the riser to prevent sand washing of the casting system and reduce the defect of sand inclusion on the surface;The pouring system was simulated and optimized by using the proprietary software to calculate the filling parameters, so as to ensure the smooth and rapid stamping and realize the sequential solidification.
