Dental Tools Brazing
Zirconia ceramics have good biocompatibility, corrosion resistance and wear resistance, excellent chemical stability and unique aesthetics, and have become an important material for oral restoration. When grinding and cutting the zirconia pre-set ceramic block to form the bottom crown or stent of all-ceramic crowns and bridges, tools with higher cutting or grinding efficiency are required. At present, electroplated diamond dental tools are more commonly used. In recent years, diamond tools prepared by brazing have a higher diamond edge and stronger bonding force than diamond tools prepared by electroplating, and there is no environmental pollution.
1. Dental Tools Brazing
(1) When using brazed diamond tools with grain sizes of 251 μm and 107 μm to process zirconia ceramics, the normal grinding force increases with the increase of the feed speed. When the feed speed is 15~45 mm/min.The tangential grinding force does not change much with the increase of the feed rate, and then increases significantly. When the brazed diamond tool with a grain size of 107 μm is processed, the normal and tangential grinding forces are both smaller than those of the brazed diamond tool with a grain size of 251 μm.
(2) When brazed diamond tools with particle sizes of 251 μm and 107 μm are used to process zirconia ceramics, brazed diamond tools with a particle size of 107 μm are normally ground when the spindle speed is 12 000 to 14 000 r/min. The force increases more, but then the normal grinding force is basically unchanged. The normal grinding force of brazed diamond tools with a particle size of 251μm increases with the increase of spindle speed, and the normal grinding force is greater than that of a brazed diamond tool with a particle size of 107μm.
(3) The surface roughness value of zirconia ceramics increases with the increase of the feed speed. When the feed speed is low, there are obvious diamond grinding marks on the surface; when the feed speed is high, there are obvious brittle fractures and crushing fractures. The surface roughness value of zirconia ceramics decreases with the increase of the spindle speed. The surface wear marks are clearer when the speed is low, and the surface wear marks become shallower when the speed is high, and there are traces of microplastic deformation.
(4) With the increase of the feed rate, the shape of zirconia chips has a tendency to change from fine and small powder to large and long strips. As the spindle speed increases, the chips tend to be thinner.
