Common quenching oil and vacuum quenching oil
Quenching oil is a kind of quenching medium used in heat treatment and quenching process. It is suitable for high temperature or continuous operation. However, there are differences between ordinary quenching oil and vacuum quenching oil. The differences between vacuum quenching oil and ordinary quenching oil are introduced from three aspects.
The difference between ordinary quenching oil and vacuum quenching oil lies in oxidation resistance, saturated vapor pressure and usage.
First of all, the workpiece must not be oxidized in the process of heating and quenching under high vacuum. The vacuum quenching oil can meet the processing requirements of the workpiece. The oxidation resistance of ordinary quenching oil is worse than that of vacuum quenching oil. Secondly, the saturated vapor pressure is different. When quenching in vacuum quenching oil, the lowest pressure of quenching hardness value can be obtained, which is the same as that under normal atmospheric pressure.
After ordinary quenching oil is quenched under normal pressure, the hardness is hrc66, and then the pressure of quenching is gradually reduced. Vacuum quenching oil can harden steel to above HRC65 in a wide range of low pressure. Therefore, the saturated vapor pressure of vacuum quenching oil is lower than that of common quenching oil. In addition, the vacuum quenching oil must be used in the vacuum furnace, and the ordinary quenching oil can be used in the quenching tank.
The above is the difference between ordinary quenching oil and vacuum quenching oil, in order to select the appropriate quenching oil according to the material, size, shape and other factors of the workpiece, so as to ensure the quenching quality of the workpiece.
