Brazing of diamond tools
The diamond welding process is basically vacuum welding, This is because diamonds can withstand temperatures of up to 1500 degrees Celsius in vacuum, and graphitization starts at 800 degrees Celsius in air.So we are mainly talking about vacuum welding.
The biggest problem of vacuum brazing is the coating of solder paste.Different coating methods are used for different materials and finished products.
Dots
Dot coating is the most commonly used process. Place the solder paste in the coating tool, apply it to the welding area at fixed point, fixed quantity and fixed speed, and then add the diamond.Fine diamond powder can also be mixed with solder paste and coated together in proportion in advance.Spot coating technology is applicable to the parts to be welded relatively simple, high welding reachability (that is, the welding surface is not covered, easy to be touched by the coating tool). The solder paste used in this process tends to have a higher viscosity.
Dip
Impregnation means that the welded parts are completely impregnated into the solder paste, and the diamond powder is added after being taken out. Sometimes a sieve can be used to evenly spread the diamond powder.
This process is suitable for large welding area, or complex, not uniform coating situation. The solder paste used has less viscosity.
