Brazing diamond tools machice
Brazing diamond tool is a kind of tool product which weld a layer of diamond firmly on the metal matrix through brazing and the metal solder melting process.This kind of products have the characteristics of higher efficiency, longer service life of single particle diamond and high grinding accuracy.
In order to avoid the problems brought by traditional manufacturing methods, such as low holding force, small chip space, low exposure height and easy falling off, etc., and to make greater use of the advantages of monolayer diamond tools, since 2000, brazing technology has been applied to the manufacturing field of diamond tools and developed rapidly.As a new manufacturing method of diamond tools, brazing technology has been widely concerned at home and abroad.The brazing method is different from other melting brazing methods ,in that process melting temperature of solder alloy is lower than the melting temperature of base metal . and the brazing temperature is lower than the solid phase line of base metal but higher than the liquid phase line of filler metal.For diamond, the brazing temperature is lower than the graphitization transition temperature of diamond.In brazing, the filler metal wets, capillary action, fills, spreads and tightly encapsulates the diamond abrasive grains on the surface of the diamond, and forms a chemical metallurgical bond in the form of carbide between the diamond and the filler alloy.Diamond tools made by brazing method have higher bonding strength of diamond abrasive grains and higher cutting edge height, improved sharpness and cutting performance, fixed chip holding space and larger chip holding space, which are especially suitable for high speed and high efficiency grinding, machining of difficult materials and precision machining.
At present, a special brazing alloy powder for diamond tools has been developed.
(1) silver base filler metal.Mainly composed of ag-cu-ti, it is often used for welding tool products and precision fine diamond and CBN high-tech products due to its lowest melting point temperature, wettability and best ductility.
(2) copper base filler metal.It is mainly composed of cu-sn-ti. Because of its low melting point temperature, good wettability and ductility, it is often used to weld light load diamond, CBN products and more precise fine grain diamond, CBN high-tech products.
(3) nickel base filler metal.It is mainly composed of ni-cr, which is often used for welding diamond products and hard alloy products with heavy load because of its high melting point temperature, good wettability and ductility.
