Application of Vacuum Sintering Technology in Diamond Tool Manufacturing
Vacuum sintering technology is used in the manufacture of diamond tools, which can reduce the consumption of high temperature resistant molds and reduce the cost of tools. It is suitable for the production of different batches of products, especially in the manufacture of large-scale and complex-shaped diamond tools. Metal bond and diamond musk particles are very different in physical, chemical, mechanical and metallurgical properties. In the ordinary sintering process, the wettability of the liquid species on the diamond determines the holding power of the metal bond on the diamond. Studies have shown that adding transition metals (titanium, zinc, chromium, vanadium, etc.) to the inert alloy can greatly improve the resistance. The wettability and holding power of diamond, but the brittleness has increased. In addition, the impurity elements in the bond will affect the holding power of the diamond.
The use of vacuum sintering technology can help solve these problems and has the following advantages:
(1) Reduce the influence of harmful elements on the performance of diamond during high temperature sintering, and improve the holding power of the bond on diamond.
(2) Without external pressure, a non-porous or microporous sintered body with high diamond concentration (up to 80%) can be obtained, and the strength of the porosity can be kept unchanged within the range of 0-40%.
(3) Reduce intermediate links and labor, and reduce the total cost by 30-40%.
(4) Will not cause environmental pollution.
The application of vacuum technology can produce a new generation of diamond tools. The produced high-strength cutting tools (the holding strength of diamond reaches 70~80MPa), can withstand long-term periodic loads without falling off the diamond serrations, and guarantee its Self-sharpening and cutting performance, and suitable for processing various materials under wet or thousand-type conditions, with long service life. Examples are as follows:
(1) Drill bit: The new drill bit extends the life of the rig, reduces the diamond consumption, and reduces the drilling cost per meter by 20-25%.
(2) Gem polishing tools: the new type of gem polishing tools have a productivity of 0.7~0.9ct/h, and a diamond consumption of 0.05~0.06ct/ct. Each dressing can be used for 150~200 hours, and can be used continuously for 4~5 years .
(3) Ching-resistant coating of wear parts: In the past, only 1 μm fine diamond powder could be used to make diamond wear-resistant coatings in textile machinery and high-performance pumps. Now it is possible to successfully manufacture a diamond wear-resistant layer with a particle size of 400~500μm, and its compressive strength can reach 700~900MPa. The wear-resistant coating on the bearing bush on the inner circular musk bed can extend its life by 2 years, and it will automatically be placed on the bed. Downtime is reduced by 8~10%.
(3) Ching-resistant coating of wearable parts: In the past, only 1μm fine diamond powder was used to make diamond wear-resistant coatings in textile machinery and high-performance pumps. Now it is possible to successfully manufacture a diamond wear-resistant layer with a particle size of 400~500μm, and its compressive strength can reach 700~900MPa. The wear-resistant coating of the bearing bush on an internal grinder can extend its life by 2 years and also make the automatic grinder stop. The time is reduced by 8 ~ 10%.
(4) Pulp making tools: new tools can ensure the stability of pulp quality, have a life span of 3 to 10 years, reduce energy consumption by 25%, reduce equipment metal content by 30%, and can grind leaf-shaped fibers without affecting fiber length .
(5) Processing rubber tools: It can overcome the shortcomings of easy blockage and weak control of diamond in the past electroplating tools.
(6) Building material sawing tools: used for stone plate processing, increasing the self-sharpening of the tools and ensuring the surface quality of the plate processing, and the new tools are more suitable for the drying of building materials such as cement products, reinforced concrete and refractory materials.Type processing. In addition, in agriculture, the use of special diamond-coated tools to grind sugar beet seeds is beneficial to increase production and improve labor intensity. In the food industry, it can complete the peeling of various grains, beans, etc., improve the grinding efficiency and eliminate harmful metals Elemental contamination of food.
