Application of Computer Simulation Technology in Heat Treatment Process Equipment
The design of heat treatment equipment not only affects the quality of the workpiece after treatment, but also affects the service life and efficiency of heat treatment equipment.The traditional heat treatment process equipment design mostly relies on the experience data, the work quantity is large, the cycle is long, the efficiency is low, the cost is high, lacks the science and the foresight.With the wide application of computer technology in the field of heat treatment, computer simulation of the process can reduce the number of experiments, improve efficiency, optimize the allocation of resources, make the design of heat treatment process equipment from experience to scientific calculation, improve the scientific nature and accuracy of heat treatment process equipment design.
In this article, through Shanghai Gehang Vacuum Technology Co.,Ltd engineering research center for heat treatment and surface modification by using computer simulation technology in the quenching tank design, carburizing furnace design and large artifacts in the equipment under the conditions of process design and so on several examples of recent studies, the computer simulation technology in heat treatment technology and equipment towel application potential.
1. Quenching Tank Flow Field Simulation and Improved Design
The flow of medium in quenching tank directly affects the quenching quality of workpiece.Uniform flow field distribution ensures uniform quenching of workpiece and reduces quenching deformation.How to ensure the flow strength and uniformity of the medium in the quenching area of the workpiece is the key of the quenching tank.Finite element method is used to simulate the flow of medium flow field in quenching tank, and the effect of structural modification can be intuitively understood.It can be seen from the velocity cloud diagram that a large eddy current appears in the middle of the flow field, which not only adversely affects the heat transfer between the workpiece and the quenching medium, but also has a great influence on the quenching uniformity.In order to prevent eddy current, a homogenizing plate was designed and the influence of plate shape on flow field distribution was studied.
The setting of the equalizing plate eliminates eddy currents, but small eddy currents are still generated near the equalizing plate.According to the velocity distribution of flow field, the fluid flow in quenching tank is not ideal.There is no eddy current in the flow field distribution and the flow velocity is uniform .
2.The Heating Furnace Temperature Field Simulation
When designing heating furnace, computer simulation technology can also be used to study different design schemes.The simulation of temperature field of heating furnace can discuss the effect of different design schemes on temperature uniformity and energy saving, and help to find the unreasonable place in design.Simulation of temperature field on top of large well carburizing furnace designed with and without heat insulation layer.The simulation results show that the temperature at the top of the furnace cover with insulation layer is uniform and low, which will reduce heat dissipation;The temperature at the bottom of the furnace cover is uniform and high, which is obviously beneficial to the uniformity of the temperature field in the furnace.And not wrapped insulation layer design, the top of the furnace cover temperature uniformity is not good, and local temperature is very high, which is bound to increase external heat dissipation;The uneven temperature at the bottom will also increase the inhomogeneity of the temperature field in the furnace. FIG. 1 and FIG. 1 respectively simulate the temperature field of two kinds of furnace bottom structures. FIG. 1 shows the oil seal type furnace bottom design, which brings certain benefits in addition to the structure. Obviously, the analysis of the temperature field shows that the temperature outside the furnace bottom is higher, and the heat dissipation will be more serious.On the contrary, the design structure of the furnace tank shown in Figure 1 shows that the temperature field distribution in Figure 2 shows that the temperature outside the furnace bottom is low, which is conducive to the uniformity of the temperature inside the furnace and energy saving.
