vacuum brazing
In recent years, the application of diamond cutters in the woodworking industry has caused great changes in the furniture industry. Furniture manufacturers around the world are replacing hard alloys of the past with PCD tools to reduce tool costs and increase productivity.
Most of today’s furniture uses materials with high abrasion, such as particle board and density board. The wear resistance of diamond tools is 125 times that of cemented carbide. The quality of the former products is much higher than that of the latter, and the processing of solid wood is far different.
Because of its special physical properties, diamond cutting tools reflect the irreplaceable advantages in modern cutting, and are known as one of the most promising cutting tool materials for improving productivity in the contemporary era. At present, the application of diamond tools in the processing of various materials is becoming more and more popular, and has become an indispensable and important tool in the intelligent production and processing of modern industry.
Diamond tools have the advantages of extremely high hardness and wear resistance, low coefficient of friction, high elastic modulus, high thermal conductivity, low coefficient of thermal expansion, and low affinity with non-ferrous metals. It can be used for precision processing of non-metallic hard and brittle materials such as graphite, high wear-resistant materials, composite materials, high-silicon aluminum alloys and other tough nonferrous metal materials.
Introduction to diamond cutters:
Diamond tools have the advantages of extremely high hardness and wear resistance, low friction coefficient, high elastic modulus, high thermal conductivity, low coefficient of thermal expansion, and low affinity with non-ferrous metals. It can be used for precision machining of non-metallic hard and brittle materials such as graphite, high wear-resistant materials, composite materials, high-silicon aluminum alloys and other tough nonferrous metal materials.
There are many types of diamond cutters, and the performance difference is significant. The structure, preparation method and application field of different types of diamond cutters are quite different.
About the widespread use of diamond woodworking routers:
Woodworking carving knives, router cutters, gong knives, trimming knives, wood wire knives, bottoming knives, arc knives, flat knives
Mainly used for: woodworking furniture, cabinet doors, wardrobes, wooden doors, tables and chairs, photo frames, signage wooden trays, wooden floors, MDF, particleboard, anti-fold special board, fireproof board, multi-layer board, bakelite board, fiberboard, melamine paste Trimming, engraving and forming of panels, plexiglass, acrylic, cast aluminum, graphite, tungsten steel, ceramics, hard plastics and other materials. Diamond tools are widely used in furniture, cabinets, wood doors and other woodworking processing industries. They are durable and cost-effective. Tool life is increased by 100 times, and they are durable for 12 months without grinding.
Solutions for induction brazing and vacuum brazing of diamond woodworking tools
Existing diamond woodworking tools, using induction and flame brazing solutions:
1. Most manufacturers in the industry adopt the scheme of induction brazing or flame brazing, and silver welding tape with flux.
No longer need to use scissors to cut silver solder pieces, and no need to add flux!
Only need to add silver solder paste, you can directly solder!
Used in diamond cutters, diamond floor cutters, and other diamond woodworking tools.
This is the latest silver solder paste solution for induction welding.
I. However, when brazing diamond straight knives, it is difficult to braze. The reason is as follows.
1. The PCD composite sheet is relatively thin, about 1.2mm. The temperature cannot be too high and it is easy to overheat. PCD is damaged.
That is, the brazing temperature should not be too high and should not exceed 760.
2. After one side of the brazing is completed, heating the other side may easily cause the side that has been brazed to melt.
3. Uneven heating leads to soldering defects.
Aiming at the pain points of manual induction brazing, a vacuum furnace can be used to braze the diamond straight knife. Avoid the above problems.
II. The vacuum brazing furnace dedicated to diamond woodworking tools has its great advantages:
1. Even heating, accurate temperature control, and no overheating problem.
2. Mass production can be achieved, more than 200 tools can be produced at a time;
3. Convenient operation, more convenient is that there are multiple cutter heads on a cutter can also be welded at the same time;
4. Increase the strength to ensure the consistency of welding.
Imported vacuum brazing solder paste
Low temperature solder paste, because it contains active metal titanium, cannot be soldered in air or in a general protective atmosphere (such as nitrogen); it can be soldered in an argon protected state, but it is not easy to succeed with high requirements. Contains active brazing material titanium, can weld single crystal diamond, CVD, PCD, PCBN, suitable for most PCD welding (especially PCD with temperature resistance within 760 degrees), high vacuum requirements (10-2Pa).
Vacuum brazing process:
The first step: anointing
Manually apply solder paste to the welding seam, place the cutter head, and use the viscosity of the solder paste to fix the cutter head in a proper position.
Step 2: Enter the furnace and heat up
Put the cutter in the vacuum furnace, and keep the pumping state during the welding process; when the vacuum reaches 10-2Pa, it will start to heat up, and it will be kept at 300 degrees and 500 degrees for 3 minutes, and will be insulated when it rises to 20 degrees below the solid point 5 minutes, then increase to the welding temperature and hold for 5 minutes. The temperature and holding time here can be adjusted according to the actual conditions of the power of each vacuum furnace, the number of welding parts and the size of the workpiece.
The third step: cooling
As the furnace cools, continue to maintain the pumping state until the temperature in the furnace is below 200 degrees before the furnace can be opened to take parts.
