Application of diamond wheel
Structure:
The structure of diamond grinding wheel is different from that of ordinary abrasive wheel. Generally, it is composed of diamond abrasive layer, transition layer and matrix.
The working layer, also known as the diamond layer, is composed of abrasive, bond and filler, and is the working part of the grinding wheel. The transition layer, also called non-diamond layer, is composed of binder, metal powder and filler, and is the part that firmly connects the diamond layer to the substrate.
The base body is used to receive the abrasive layer, and when used, it is firmly clamped on the grinding machine spindle with a flange. The general metal binder products use steel and alloy steel powder as the substrate; the resin binder uses aluminum alloy and bakelite as the substrate. It is made of aluminum, steel or bakelite, and plays the role of supporting working layer and clamping abrasive. The quality of the grinding wheel and the accuracy of the use have a great relationship with the substrate.
Characteristic:
Diamond grinding wheel belongs to super-hard abrasive wheel. Compared with ordinary abrasive wheel, it has very obvious characteristics and advantages:
The hardness of the diamond abrasive determines the main characteristics of the diamond grinding wheel, which can efficiently grind hard-to-machine materials such as cemented carbide, glass, and ceramics, and the grinding tool has the longest service life.
Diamond has high abrasion resistance, the wear of the grinding wheel is smaller, the longer the use time, in the grinding process, the size, shape and morphology of the diamond abrasive particles change little, which is more suitable for high-precision processing and production High efficiency, diamond grinding wheel is a tool that can satisfy both high efficiency and precision machining.
The diamond grinding wheel after sharpening can maintain the micro-edge of the abrasive particles for a long time, and the good cutting performance ensures a small grinding force during the grinding process, thereby reducing the grinding power and saving energy.
The thermal conductivity of diamond is very good, which is conducive to the evacuation of heat, avoiding burns, cracks and falling blocks of the workpiece, which greatly improves the quality of the surface processing of the workpiece.
Classification:
According to the bonding agent, diamond grinding wheels can be divided into: resin bonding diamond grinding wheels; ceramic bonding diamond grinding wheels; metal bonding diamond grinding wheels (bronze bonding diamond grinding wheels)
Diamond wheels can be divided into: sintered diamond wheels (resin bond diamond wheels; ceramic bond diamond wheels; metal bond diamond wheels); electroplated diamond wheels; brazed diamond wheels.
Diamond grinding wheels can be divided into: diamond grinding wheels for diamond grinding; diamond grinding wheels for diamond grinding (diamond knife grinding wheels); diamond grinding wheels for grinding diamond composite pieces; centerless grinding diamond grinding wheels for coreless grinding machines; grinding ceramic products Use diamond grinding wheel; cutting diamond grinding wheel (also called diamond cutting disc); diamond saw blade.
Diamond wheels can be divided into parallel wheels, cylindrical wheels, cup wheels, bowl wheels, dish wheels, edging wheels, grinding discs, etc. according to appearance or shape.
Use:
Due to the characteristics and advantages of diamond abrasives, diamond grinding wheels have become the ideal tool of choice for grinding and processing hard and brittle materials such as glass, ceramics, gemstones, stone materials, and hard alloys. With the progress of the times, the development of science, the needs of society, the development of new materials, the grinding process continues to develop in the direction of high quality, high precision, high efficiency, and automation. The role of diamond grinding wheels is becoming more and more obvious. The metal bond The diamond grinding wheel has high holding strength of abrasive grains, long service life, and low abrasion, making the diamond grinding wheel give full play to its characteristics of strong wear resistance and cutting ability in high-speed and ultra-high-speed, high-efficiency, high-precision grinding, especially in hard and brittle The material has its obvious advantages and is widely used. Diamond grinding wheels are used in almost all sectors of industry, such as aerospace, mold manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, and optical processing manufacturing. Ceramic materials, optical materials, aero-engine turbine blades, silicon wafer products, etc. are often ground with diamond wheels.
Development
Diamond wheels are special tools for grinding hard, brittle materials such as cemented carbide, glass, ceramics and gemstones. In recent years, with the rapid development of high-speed grinding and ultra-precision grinding technology, higher requirements have been placed on grinding wheels. Ceramic resin bond grinding wheels have been unable to meet production needs. Metal bond grinding wheels have high bonding strength and good formability. It has been widely used due to its remarkable characteristics such as long service life. According to different manufacturing methods, there are mainly two types of metal bond diamond grinding wheels: sintering and electroplating. In order to give full play to the role of super-hard abrasives, foreign countries began to develop a new type of grinding wheel with high-temperature brazing technology in the early 1990s, that is, single-layer high-temperature brazed super-hard abrasive grinding wheel, which is still in the development stage.
Vacuum brazing
Single-layer brazed diamond grinding wheel is a new type of super-hard abrasive grinding wheel. It uses brazing technology to realize the chemical metallurgical combination of diamond abrasive particles, solder bond and metal matrix interface, fundamentally breaking the traditional grinding wheel bond grinding The binding of the physical package of the particles improves the holding strength of the abrasive grains of the brazed diamond grinding wheel. The climbing height of the brazing material bond can be maintained at 20% to 30% to achieve high-strength bonding of the abrasive grains, which is sufficient to meet the high speed of the grinding wheel under heavy load Or ultra-high speed and efficient grinding process. The abrasiveness of the diamond grinding wheel is as high as 70% to 80%, which makes the grinding wheel sharper, the cutting performance is greatly improved, and the grinding force, grinding temperature, grinding power and grinding ratio generated during the grinding process can be greatly reduced. Greatly improve the processing efficiency and the life of the brazed grinding wheel. The chip space of the brazed grinding wheel is more sufficient and is not easy to block, which avoids the damage of the chip to the workpiece. At the same time, the chip space can accommodate more coolant, which effectively reduces the temperature of the grinding workpiece and avoids burns.
