What needs to be done for heat treatment with vacuum oil quenching furnace?
Oxidation corrosion is one of the fatal defects for product parts. Many companies use salt furnace quenching for heat treatment of product parts. When the rainy season comes every year, the parts must be surface treated within one week, otherwise the residual salt will corrode the parts, leading to quality problems of batch scrapping. Many companies have increased the workload of the surface treatment workshop due to the large output and variety of products, resulting in pressure on production arrangements. In addition, although the use of salt bath furnace heating can effectively prevent decarburization, there is often residual salt on the workpiece surface. Because it is difficult to clean thoroughly, it is easy to produce waste products due to oxidation corrosion.
The VOGQ double chamber quenching and tempering furnace produced by SIMUWU can guarantee the conditions of high vacuum (<10Pa), and fully meet the requirements of workpiece non oxidation decarburization heating and quenching. When the workpiece is heated in vacuum, the grease on the surface can be removed, the oxide can be decomposed, and the surface can reach the activated state to improve the surface quality. The equipment is controlled by the program and automatically executes the set process parameters, eliminating the influence of human factors. The temperature control system adopts PID to adjust and automatically control the temperature. The furnace temperature uniformity can be controlled within ± 5 ℃, thus ensuring that the workpiece can be heated uniformly. The machined surface is smooth and free of oxidation, which can eliminate shot peening after heat treatment. The workload of the surface treatment workshop is reduced due to the reduced process. In addition, the equipment is easy to operate, which reduces the number of operators and improves the work efficiency. At the same time, the environmental pollution caused by salt bath furnace treatment was eliminated, and the working environment of operators was improved.
Preparation for vacuum oil quenching:
(1) Design aids
The auxiliary tools shall be designed reasonably according to the furnace volume, so as to ensure that the workpiece can be heated completely and uniformly, and reduce deformation as much as possible. It is necessary to design and prepare a stainless steel tray, hanger, support and other fixtures. Clamps are wearing parts, so they should be replaced regularly.
(2) Quenching medium
Generally, vacuum quenching oil is used for oil quenching. It is necessary to purchase the correct quenching oil according to the nature of the workpiece, and ensure that the quenching oil is within its service temperature when using, so as to ensure the quality of the workpiece.
(3) Charging method
The charging method of the workpiece will determine whether the workpiece can be uniformly heated and whether it can be quenched when it has been quenched. The proper charging amount can ensure that the vacuum heat treatment can be completed quickly and well. Vacuum heating mainly depends on thermal radiation. When placing parts, ensure that there is a proper gap between them. According to the shape characteristics of parts, corresponding hangers can be designed to make them evenly heated.
(4) Process adjustment
Without experience in using vacuum furnace, it is difficult to apply the previous process for heat treatment. According to the characteristics of slow heat transfer in vacuum, the process parameters need to be adjusted to ensure that the parts are heated evenly and get a good structure. After the setting is completed, select the automatic button, and the equipment can realize automatic picking and oil quenching according to the program requirements.
(5) Tempering
Tempering can be carried out in the quenching furnace or an additional well type furnace to ensure the output of the oil quenching furnace.
The specific heat treatment process setting process is as follows:
High vacuum furnace is used to replace salt furnace for heat treatment, which can meet 100% of product design requirements through batch production verification. After heat treatment, the surface is smooth and clean without oxidation, and no surface shot blasting is required.
