What does a vacuum furnace do?
A vacuum furnace uses a vacuum system to discharge part of the material in the furnace cavity in a specific space of the furnace cavity, so that the pressure in the furnace cavity is less than one standard atmospheric pressure, and the space in the furnace cavity is thus in a vacuum state. This is a vacuum furnace.
Vacuum furnaces are also widely used in industrial production to realize vacuum quenching and tempering, vacuum annealing, vacuum chemical heat treatment, vacuum coating and other processes. Due to its uniqueness, vacuum furnaces can realize complex processes that other heat treatment equipment cannot handle. There are many categories of vacuum furnaces, such as vacuum brazing furnace, vacuum air quenching furnace, vacuum sintering furnace, vacuum oil quenching furnace, vacuum carburizing furnace, etc. Different vacuum furnace types also have different uses.
For example, vacuum brazing furnaces are mainly used for vacuum brazing of aluminum products such as aluminum alloy heat exchangers, and vacuum tempering of stainless steel, titanium alloys, carbide, bearing steel, stainless steel and other materials.
The vacuum sintering furnace uses the principle of medium frequency induction heating under the protective state of hydrogen filling after vacuuming to generate high temperature in the tungsten crucible in the coil, which is transmitted to the work through heat radiation. It is suitable for refractory alloys such as tungsten, molybdenum and other Powder molding and sintering of alloys. Vacuum hot pressing sintering furnace is used to sinter powder materials under high temperature and high pressure conditions. It has the following features:
The vacuum environment during the sintering process prevents oxidation reactions and impurity contamination, thereby improving the purity and performance of the material.
Sintering furnaces can provide high temperature conditions, often reaching several thousand degrees Celsius. High temperature promotes the bonding and diffusion between original powder particles, achieving grain growth and densification.
The sintering furnace applies high pressure to bring the powder particles into closer contact together, deforming and sintering at high temperatures. This high-pressure pressing can enhance the density and mechanical strength of the material.
The sintering furnace has a precise temperature and pressure control system that allows fine adjustment and monitoring of the sintering process. Such control helps achieve desired material properties and avoids overfiring or incomplete sintering.
