Vacuum heat treatment of sheet parts
Thin metal parts are widely used. Some precision equipment not only requires high strength, but also requires high precision for thin parts. Therefore, it is necessary to control the distortion of thin parts during heat treatment.
During the atmosphere protection heat treatment of the sheet in the multi-purpose furnace, the quenching oil (No. 20 engine oil) was used for quenching with large distortion and surface oxidation, and the qualification rate was only 66%, which could not achieve the expected effect.
In order to completely eliminate distortion and surface decarburization deformation, the original salt bath heating isothermal quenching process must be canceled, and the vacuum heat treatment must be carried out for the sheet parts. Vacuum heat treatment technology has a series of advantages such as no oxidation, no decarburization, degreasing, small deformation, good surface quality, etc. The heat treated parts have excellent comprehensive performance, long service life, no pollution, no public hazard, and high degree of automation. The vacuum quenched workpiece has uniform hardness, good process stability and repeatability; After quenching, the distortion of workpiece size and shape is small, which can generally eliminate machining to repair distortion, thus improving economic benefits and making up for insufficient investment in equipment.
Taking 35CrMnSiA steel parts as an example, it is a common quenched and tempered steel with good hardenability and is widely used in the production of various thin sheet parts. When processing the quenching in this vacuum high-pressure gas quenching furnace, the high-purity high-pressure (≥ 0.4MPa) nitrogen (99.995% or more) used basically meets the requirements for quenching hardness. The vacuum heat treatment process and a new furnace charging method were used to conduct heat treatment on 30 thin pieces of the same batch. After testing, the hardness of the workpiece after heat treatment was 45~47HRC, the flatness was basically controlled between 0.03~0.25mm, and the yield of heat treatment products reached 99.7%. The adjusted process has solved the distortion problem of the sheet parts very well, and all technical indicators meet the requirements, which can be used for mass production.
