Vacuum heat treatment of 3Cr2W8V steel-aluminum die-casting mold
Die casting is the abbreviation of pressure casting. It is a method of filling liquid or semi-liquid metal in the die-casting mold cavity at high speed under high pressure, and rapidly solidifying under pressure to obtain castings. The die-casting mold used is called a die-casting mold. The common pressure in die casting is from several MPa to several tens of MPa, and the initial filling speed is in the range of (0.5-70) m/s. Therefore, high pressure and high speed are important characteristics of die casting.
3Cr2W8V is a typical hypereutectoid ledeburite steel, which is suitable for the manufacture of hot work molds with high requirements for high temperature strength and tempering stability. It has a broad application market in my country. The conditions are relatively harsh. For example, the inner cavity of the hot working mold is subject to the scouring of the high-temperature molten metal during the casting process, and it is also affected by artificial percussion during the demolding process. Therefore, the higher hardness, wear resistance, toughness and Thermal fatigue capacity is the premise for the wide application of 3Cr2W8V hot work die.
Vacuum heat treatment has the advantages of no oxidation, no decarburization, and the heat treatment effect of keeping the surface of the parts bright. At the same time, it also has the advantages of small distortion of the parts, energy saving, no pollution to the environment, and easy automatic control. Therefore, it has been widely used in the quenching treatment of tools and molds.
Vacuum Heat Treatment of Steel and Aluminum Die Casting Die
The 3Cr2W8V steel-aluminum die-casting mold is shown in the figure. Its basic size is 220mm×140mm×20mm, and the precision is φ90-mm at φ90mm. Therefore, after heat treatment, the die-casting mold is required to have good surface quality and minimize deformation. Therefore, the vacuum heat treatment of the 3Cr2W8V steel-aluminum die-casting mold should control the vacuum degree of the vacuum furnace on the one hand, and reasonably control the heat treatment temperature.
Vacuum heat treatment process:
①In order to reduce the deformation of the 3Cr2W8V steel-aluminum die-casting mold, it is preheated at 800°C and kept for 60min, and the vacuum degree at this time should be 13.3~1.33Pa;
②According to the thermal fatigue curve of 3Cr2W8V steel, below 1180℃, with the increase of quenching temperature, the degree of alloying of the steel matrix of 3Cr2W8V steel increases, and its thermal fatigue resistance also increases; above 1180℃, the quenching temperature continues to rise High, the grain size of 3Cr2W8V steel becomes larger, and the thermal fatigue resistance decreases with the increase of quenching temperature. Therefore, 3Cr2W8V steel has the best thermal fatigue resistance at 1180 °C. During the quenching process, the vacuum degree changed from 1.33Pa to 13.3Pa, and in the quenching and heat preservation stage, the vacuum degree changed to 1.33Pa.
③ Considering the thermal fatigue properties, hardness and toughness of 3Cr2W8V steel-aluminum die-casting molds, when the quenching temperature is increased to 1150 °C and the tempering temperature is increased to 670-680 °C, the formation time of thermal fatigue cracks can be delayed, and the diffusion rate can be delayed. For this reason, choose the tempering temperature of 670~680℃, keep the temperature for 180min, and the vacuum degree should be kept at 1.33Pa. The specific heat treatment process is shown in the figure.
