Vacuum brazing technology of diamond tools
Diamond tools are divided into sawing tools, grinding and polishing tools, cutting tools, drilling tools, drawing dies, etc. Diamond sawing tools are divided into diamond circular saw blades, diamond gang saws, diamond wire saws, diamond wire saws, diamond inner hole saws, etc. according to their shapes. Diamond circular saws are currently the most commonly used sawing tools in the stone and construction industries and are widely used in cutting granite, marble, ceramics, concrete and other products.
Diamond cutting tools are characterized by extremely high hardness and wear resistance, high elastic modulus, low friction coefficient, low thermal expansion coefficient, good heat transfer, and low adhesion to non-ferrous metals. It can be used for the processing of non-metallic hard and brittle materials (such as ceramics, graphite, composite materials, etc.), and can also be used for the precision processing of ductile non-ferrous metal materials (such as copper alloy, aluminum alloy, etc.).
Brazed diamond tools are divided into two types: surface-mounted tools and impregnated-mounted tools. Surface-mounted tools directly braze diamonds on the surface of the substrate, and impregnated diamond tools sinter diamonds with other materials into a composite body. The brazing process can achieve the metallurgical bonding of diamond, solder and metal matrix, with high connection strength. The cutting height of diamond is much greater than that of the electroplating process. Therefore, single-layer diamond brazing tools are sharp and have a large chip space, making it difficult to use during use. Clogging, high utilization rate of diamond abrasive grains. Since diamond is easily graphitized at high temperatures, the diamond brazing temperature should not exceed 1050°C even in a vacuum environment.
Vacuum brazing generally uses vacuum radiation heating, which has high production efficiency, and even heating can weld diamond tools with complex structures and large sizes. At present, vacuum brazed single-layer diamond tools are widely used in the manufacture of dressing tools, grinding wheels, stone tools, glass tools, etc. Vacuum-brazed multi-layer diamond tools also have good industrial application prospects. Diamond tools (such as drill bits, picks, saw blades, knives, etc.) are dissipative products. Vacuum brazing is used to improve the sharpness, durability and reliability of diamond tools, so that the brazed joints have longer fatigue life and extend Tool life.
Brazed diamond tools are mainly in the form of a single layer, which has a relatively high ability to hold diamond abrasive grains, has a longer service life than a single grain, and has a relatively high utilization rate of diamonds. Vacuum brazing has helped the diamond tool brazing develop toward automation, greenness, complex processes, high quality, and economy.
