Vacuum Brazing of Mechanical Blades
Generally speaking, the main function of a mechanical blade is a tool for cutting wood, leather, printing, and glueboard and other materials. There are many types and specifications of blades. However, due to the particularity of mechanical inserts in cutting, the requirements for inserts are relatively high. They not only need to have extremely strong hardness, but also have certain advantages such as wear resistance, toughness and hot hardness. There are also high requirements for fatigue fracture resistance and carbide spalling resistance. In addition, in recent years, the application of mechanical blades in the research and development, manufacture and maintenance of internal combustion engines for railway passenger freight cars is essential. Therefore, it is of great significance to deeply understand and analyze the machining process and vacuum heat treatment process of mechanical inserts.
The production process of mechanical blades
At this stage, the materials used in the production and processing of mechanical blades are divided into two types: one is that the entire blade is made of high-speed steel or alloy steel; the other is that only the blade of the blade is high-speed steel or alloy steel. Generally, the processing method of the second blade is formed by high temperature pressing, inserting or brazing. The so-called high-temperature rolling and inserting method is mainly based on high-temperature heating, which is to heat the carbon steel cutter body and blade steel at high temperature, and further use the rolling mill to weld the cutter body and the blade to form a complete blade shape. There are generally three production processes: non-oxidative hot-rolled splicing, hot-rolled flux splicing, and non-oxidative plus flux splicing. Each processing method has certain characteristics and advantages, but in general, vacuum brazing technology is better than insert welding. . The production process of vacuum brazing of mechanical blades is as follows:
(1) With carbon steel plate as the main material, the next process of the cutter body and the blade is completed, and the processing material of the blade is straightened;
(2) Grind the finished blade material to remove the oxidized skin on the surface. Generally, blade steel needs to be ground on 4 sides;
(3) Slot the part of the blade that needs to be welded, and start the straightening work again;
(4) Clean up the burrs around the blade steel and the knife groove;
(5) Carry out detailed cleaning of the knife groove and the surface of the blade steel;
(6) Lay the copper sheet and the blade steel strip on the knife groove to realize connection and fixation;
(7) Complete the furnace loading work, and complete the welding, heating and vacuum quenching of the blades in the furnace;
(8) Carry out hardness test on the blade after vacuum quenching;
(9) Start the alignment work while it is hot;
(10) Vacuum tempering, and re-align the first time after the tempering is completed;
(11) Check and determine the hardness and microstructure after the vacuum tempering is completed, and determine whether it needs to be tempered again;
(12) Place the qualified blade into the machine for further processing;
(13) Packaging.
