Main types of vacuum quenching furnace equipment
Vacuum quenching furnace is the main type of vacuum heat treatment furnace, with many varieties, large quantity, complex structure and rapid development.
Classification method of vacuum quenching furnace
There are many classification methods for vacuum quenching furnace, which can be roughly divided into: ① According to the operation mode, it can be divided into periodic type, semi-continuous type and continuous type; ② According to the structural form, it can be divided into single chamber, double chamber and three chambers; ③ According to the furnace shape, it can be divided into horizontal type and vertical type; ④ According to the vacuum degree, it can be divided into low vacuum, high vacuum and ultra-high vacuum; ⑤ According to the working temperature, it can be divided into low temperature, medium temperature and high temperature; ⑥ According to the type of heat source, it can be divided into resistance heating and high-frequency induction, electron beam and plasma heating: ⑦ According to the cooling method, it can be divided into air cooling, oil cooling and water cooling.
Structural classification of vacuum gas quenching furnace
The structure of vacuum gas quenching furnace includes vertical and horizontal single-chamber vacuum gas quenching furnace. The heating and cooling of the single-chamber furnace are carried out in the same furnace chamber. It has a simple structure, convenient operation and maintenance, small footprint and more applications. Vertical and horizontal double-chamber vacuum gas quenching furnaces, the heating chamber and cooling chamber of this furnace are separated by a vacuum gate valve. When the workpiece is cooled in the cooling chamber, the heating chamber is not affected. Therefore, the workpiece cooling speed is faster than that of a single-chamber vacuum gas quenching furnace. Since the cooling gas of the double-chamber furnace is only filled into the cooling chamber, the heating chamber remains vacuum, thus shortening the workpiece time (vacuuming, heating, etc.), and the production efficiency is increased by about 25%~30% compared with the single-chamber vacuum furnace. The three-chamber semi-continuous gas quenching vacuum furnace consists of a feeding chamber, a heating chamber and a cooling chamber. The adjacent chambers are separated by a vacuum gate valve. The continuous vacuum heat treatment furnace has high production efficiency, saves energy, reduces costs, is suitable for continuous production and large-scale production operations, and is the future development direction of vacuum heat treatment furnaces.
With the advancement of industrial technology and the improvement of product processing quality and technical requirements, the scope of vacuum heat treatment processing steel and alloys has expanded, and vacuum gas quenching furnaces have developed rapidly. Its characteristics are that the cooling gas pressure is usually 0.1~0.5MPa, and some high-pressure gas quenching vacuum furnaces with a pressure of up to 2MPa or even 4MPa have been put into operation, and the workpiece is cooled under high-speed airflow. High-pressure gas quenching is mostly a single-chamber furnace, and its structural form can be divided into internal circulation and external circulation.
Application of vacuum oil quenching furnace
Vacuum oil quenching furnaces are widely used in vacuum quenching furnaces and are complete in variety. Horizontal single-chamber vacuum oil quenching furnace, the workpiece is heated and oil quenched in the same furnace chamber, with a simple structure, easy manufacturing, convenient operation and maintenance, and low cost. The disadvantage is that when the workpiece is vacuum oil quenched, oil vapor is generated to pollute the heating chamber, reducing the service life of the electric heating element and the insulation performance of the insulating material. Vertical and horizontal double-chamber vacuum oil quenching furnaces, because the heating chamber and the cooling oil tank are separated by a vacuum insulation gate valve, can prevent the oil vapor generated during the oil quenching of the workpiece from invading and contaminating the heating chamber, thereby improving the service life of the heating element and the insulation performance of the insulating parts. Compared with the double-chamber vacuum oil quenching furnace, the single-chamber vacuum oil quenching furnace has high production efficiency and saves energy. The disadvantage is that the structure is more complex and the manufacturing and processing requirements are higher. The cost is higher.
