Main advantages of vacuum sintering furnace
Sintering is a technique of densifying a powder body using thermal energy. Its specific definition refers to the densification process in which the porous state of the green body is under high temperature conditions, the surface area is reduced, the porosity is reduced, and the mechanical properties (mechanical strength, etc.) are improved. Vacuum sintering refers to sintering performed when the pressure condition in the furnace is negative pressure.
Main advantages of vacuum sintering furnace:
1.Reducing harmful components, the vacuum sintering furnace reduces the adverse effects of harmful components (water, oxygen, nitrogen) in the atmosphere on the product.
For example, to make the water content in electrolyzed hydrogen only need vacuum degree, as long as it reaches a certain pressure, it is equivalent to the dew point which is difficult to reach when the water content is low, and it is relatively easy to obtain such a vacuum degree in a good vacuum sintering furnace. Moreover, vacuum sintering can be used for materials that are suitable for using reducing or inert gas as a protective atmosphere (such as sintering of active metals) or that are not prone to decarburization and carburization.
2.Improve the properties of the solid phase. Vacuum can improve the wettability of the liquid to the solid phase, which is beneficial to shrinkage and improve the structure of the alloy.
Vacuum sintering helps to remove silicon, aluminum, magnesium, calcium and other impurities or their oxides, and plays a role in purifying materials. Moreover, the vacuum is conducive to the removal of adsorbed gas, residual gas in the pores, and reaction gas products, and has a significant effect on promoting the shrinkage in the later stage of sintering. For example, the porosity of cemented carbide sintered in vacuum is significantly lower than that of cemented carbide sintered in hydrogen.
3.Low temperature requirements.
The temperature of the vacuum sintering furnace is lower than the temperature of the gas protection sintering. For example, the sintering temperature can be lowered a lot when sintering cemented carbide. This is beneficial to reduce energy consumption and prevent grain growth. And by strictly controlling the vacuum degree during vacuum sintering, even if the pressure in the furnace is not lower than the vapor pressure of the sintered metal components, the volatilization loss of cobalt during sintering cemented carbide can be greatly reduced or avoided.
Vacuum sintering furnace selection: The vacuum sintering furnace produced by SIMUWU company is trustworthy, and the good temperature control accuracy and temperature control uniformity ensure the effective vacuum sintering process. The equipment is easy to manage and maintain, greatly reducing maintenance costs.
