Excellent vacuum hardening quality
Under the general trend of energy conservation, emission reduction and electrification, the automotive industry has an increasingly obvious demand for lightweight. In this context, the heat treatment process used to improve and enhance the performance of parts will further expand the development space, especially the vacuum heat treatment that can prevent the mold surface from oxidation and decarburization, have small quenching deformation, uniform hardness, and improve performance and service life. Craftsmanship.
1.The color of vacuum hardening:
The color of vacuum hardening is related to the vacuum degree of the equipment itself. For general mold materials, when the vacuum degree is 10-2Pa, the original color of the workpiece will appear, otherwise it may be a little yellow.
2. The color of vacuum oil quenching:
What is quenched by this type of process is basically the original color, and the oil stains on the workpiece must be cleaned before tempering.
3. Product color in the tempering stage after vacuum heat treatment:
Tempering is divided into: vacuum tempering, protective tempering, low temperature tempering, and high temperature tempering. This is often controversial because some products require different tempering methods in terms of usability.
(1)Vacuum tempered product color:
This type of product has the highest production cost and the best effect. It is basically the original color and is generally used for products without post-processing.
(2)Protective tempering + low temperature tempering
This type of product is generally a little yellow or golden in color after tempering (heating temperature is usually 150℃~250℃). For this type of product, heat treatment manufacturers have the lowest production cost, minimal deformation, less correction, and good-looking color. This process Generally used for small parts, high hardness, and products that do not require toughness.
(3)Protection tempering + high temperature tempering:
The tempering temperature of this type of product is generally in the range of 420-630°. It is mainly used for products that require toughness, anti-explosion or mechanical processing cracking. In particular, products that require wire cutting must be highly quenched and tempered, but the tempering temperature of this process is high. The amount of deformation is large and repeated correction is required. Although the usability is good, the color is not as beautiful as the low-temperature tempered golden yellow, and the production cost of the heat treatment manufacturer is high.
(4)Non-protective high temperature tempering:
Such products have oxide scale visible to the naked eye.
(5)Color of ordinary quenched products after tempering:
Non-vacuum quenched products have particularly severe oxide scale, which is common in carbon steel.
