Common Failure and Maintenance of Vacuum Quenching Furnace
Like ordinary equipment, vacuum quenching furnace will have many failures in the process of use, especially in the case of harsh operating environment and uninterrupted work, the failure rate of equipment is relatively high. If you rely on the equipment manufacturer for repair or transformation, the production pressure and economic pressure will be relatively large, so it is necessary to learn and study to find a better solution to its common faults. The following lists several common fault phenomena in use and proposes solutions, hoping to help relevant manufacturers.
1.The vacuum degree is not up to the standard
The vacuum degree is not up to the standard, which is one of the common failures. It will do great harm to the production and equipment, and even cause serious consequences of damage to the heating chamber. The key to the maintenance of vacuum leakage is to accurately determine the leakage point. There are many possible reasons why the vacuum cannot be pumped, such as insufficient pumping capacity of the vacuum unit or leakage. The following methods shall be used for troubleshooting: close the vacuum valve after pumping the chamber to a certain vacuum state. If the value of the vacuum gauge rises rapidly, the vacuum chamber leaks in most cases, and the leak point should be found first. Generally, it is caused by aging and scratching of dynamic seals such as furnace door, vacuum valve and intermediate heat insulation door, and oxide skin falling off to the sealing line. The seals can be cleaned and replaced, and the valve can be opened and closed manually for maintenance. If there is no problem in these places, check the interface between the vacuum chamber and the outside world, such as connecting flange, water-cooled electrode, pipeline and vacuum pipe, etc., and carefully find the leakage point by using acetone leak detection method.
If the value of the vacuum gauge rises slowly, it may be that the vacuum unit has insufficient pumping capacity. At this time, the focus should be placed on finding the leakage of the vacuum pump and valve. Sometimes, the vacuum pump oil is polluted and oxidized, the front pipeline is not well sealed, the pump oil is insufficient, emulsified, and the shaft seal leaks oil. In this case, the vacuum pump oil or vacuum pump should be replaced. If the leakage point cannot be found, it is necessary to dismantle, inspect and reinstall all the places suspected of possible air leakage, or process the solid flange to block and then conduct the test.
2.Heating chamber failure
The heating chamber of the vacuum quenching furnace is the key part of the whole equipment. Because the workpiece is repeatedly heated and cooled above 1000 ℃ for a long time, its components appear extremely fragile, especially prone to failure. In particular, some vacuum furnace manufacturers are not mature in design and manufacturing technology, so there are many problems in their heating chambers. Some problems and solutions will be described below.
The vacuum quenching furnace has been used continuously for a long time, and the problems in the heating chamber include: deformation of the frame, damage of the graphite insulation layer, reduced heat insulation effect, some electrodes and graphite tubes cannot be tightly connected due to arcing, and the material table is broken. In addition, if the hot insulation layer of the middle partition is burned or falls off, it is easy to cause overheating of the silicone rubber seal ring and gas leakage in the cold and hot chambers, which aggravate the damage of the furnace liner.
Due to the tight production and high price of spare parts, the workshop generally adopts the method of local sewing for self repair. Although it can maintain production for a period of time, it will often face greater damage soon. If we want to fundamentally solve the problem, we must purchase high-quality and well-designed equipment to extend the service life of the equipment and reduce maintenance costs.
