Application and selection of vacuum sintering furnace
Vacuum sintering furnaces are often used in current experiments. The main purpose of vacuum sintering furnaces is for powder metallurgy products, metal injection molding products, stainless steel substrates, hard alloys, super alloys, high specific gravity alloys, ceramic materials, magnetic materials , NdFeB, etc. sintering.
Vacuum sintering furnace temperature difference:
Low temperature sintering is below 1200°C, medium temperature is between 1200-1600°C, and high temperature is above 1700°C. It is also divided according to the degree of vacuum, which can be divided into low vacuum, high vacuum and ultra-high vacuum sintering furnaces.
There are many ways to choose a vacuum sintering furnace, and you can choose the right one according to your needs.
Selection of vacuum sintering furnace:
Selection of heat shield: The heat shield is the main component of the heating chamber of the vacuum sintering furnace. Its main function is heat insulation, heat preservation and reduction of heat loss, and it is also the structural basis of the fixed heater. Therefore, the selection of heat shield structure and material has a great influence on the power and performance of the vacuum furnace (such as vacuum degree, outgassing rate, etc.). Heat shields are basically divided into metal heat shields and non-metal heat shields. Its structural forms are divided into all-metal heat shields, sandwich heat shields, graphite felt heat shields and mixed felt heat shields. The selection of the heat shield is mainly determined by the sintering temperature, the physical and chemical properties of the product and the vacuum degree requirements. The choice of the vacuum system is mainly determined by the working vacuum degree.
Selection of cooling system: The cooling methods of the designed and manufactured vacuum furnace can be divided into natural cooling and forced cooling, and forced cooling is divided into internal circulation cooling and external circulation cooling. The inflatable medium is generally high-purity nitrogen or argon.
Vacuum heat treatment process
1. The vacuum tempering furnace should have a quick cooling device. The pressure of the cooling water should be greater than 0.2Mpa, and the flow should be adjustable.
2. Vacuum heating is mainly based on radiation, and the workpiece should keep a distance in the furnace.
3. When treating titanium alloys in a vacuum heat treatment furnace, it is not advisable to use nitrogen as a cooling gas, because titanium and nitrogen react at high temperatures to form golden-yellow titanium nitride.
4. During the heating process, the workpiece and the materials in the furnace will outgas, which will reduce the vacuum degree.
5. The active connection parts of the vacuum furnace are all sealed and connected by O-shaped rubber rings, and these parts are cooled by water.
6. The heating temperature of vacuum tempering, vacuum annealing, vacuum solution treatment and vacuum aging is generally the same as that of conventional treatment.
7. Cooling gas: Steel generally uses 99.995% nitrogen, high-temperature alloy uses 99.999% nitrogen or argon, and titanium alloy uses 99.995% argon. the
8. The maintenance of the vacuum furnace should be in the state of vacuum or pure nitrogen, and avoid inhalation and moisture absorption when not in use.
