Vacuum Heat Treatment Of ASP-23 High Speed Steel
ASP-23 is a chromium molybdenum-vanadium powder steel, its characteristics are as follows:
1.High wear resistance (abrasive wear resistance)
2.High compressive strength
3.Excellent hardenability
4.Good toughness,
5.Good dimensional stability of heat treatment
6.Good temper softening resistance
7.Use the correct hardness for different purposes
8.High wear resistance
9.High toughness to avoid early failure of the mold due to Angle collapse or fracture
Materials with high wear resistance often have the problem of low toughness, so many examples show that having high wear resistance and toughness at the same time is the most important for die life.
ASP-23 is a tool steel manufactured using powder metallurgy, combining the best wear resistance and toughness.
Chemical component:
C :1.28
Mn :0
V :3.1
Cr :4.2
Heat Treatment:
ASP -23 high speed steel is heat treated in SIMUWU model RVGQ-669 high pressure vacuum heat treatment furnace HRC: 64~66 :
1) Soft annealing: it is usually heated to 850-900℃ in the protective state, soaking, and then cooled to 700℃ in the furnace at 10℃ per hour, and then cooled by vent.
2) Stress relief: after rough machining, the mold should be heated to 600-700℃. After soaking, the mold should be kept warm for 2 hours. The mold should be slowly cooled to 500℃ in the furnace, and then cooled by venting.
3) hardening (quenching) treatment:
Preheat temperature: 450-500℃ and 850-900℃
Quenching temperature: 1050℃~1180℃ is selected according to the required hardness. The mold must be protected in the hardening process to avoid oxidation and decarburization.
