5CrNiMo Hot Die Steel Heat Treatment
5CrNiMo die steel material
5CrNiMo steel has good toughness, strength and high wear resistance. It is a hot working die steel.Its mechanical properties at room temperature and at 500 ~ 600℃ are almost the same.When heated to 500℃, the hardness of HB300 can be maintained.Because steel contains molybdenum, it is not sensitive to temper brittleness.After slowly cooling down from 600℃, the impact toughness only decreases slightly.
Chemical composition of 5CrNiMo die steel:
C: 0.50 ~ 0.60
Si: 0.40 or less
Mn: 0.50 ~ 0.80
S: 0.030 or less
P: 0.030 or less
Cr: 0.50 ~ 0.80
Ni: 1.40 to 1.80
Cu: Permissible residual content of 0.30 or less
Mo: 0.15 ~ 0.30
5CrNiMo hardness:
Annealing, 241 ~ 197HB, indentation diameter 3.9 ~ 4.3mm
5CrNiMo die steel heat treatment:
Quenching is only to improve the steel surface hardness, high wear resistance and the heart of good strength and toughness to provide the necessary conditions.Quenching has the following typical heat treatment process: precooling direct quenching, primary quenching, secondary quenching.For hot working die, the most widely used method for heat treatment, the process is simple.
SIMUWU VOGQ-446 vacuum two-chamber oil quenching furnace is used for the heat treatment of 5CrNiMo steel. In order to avoid large stress and strain in the hammer forging die during quenching, the steel is precooled to 750-780 °C in the gas after heating from 830-860 °C, and then the oil is cooled to about 150-180 °C, and the oil is cooled to about 60°C. After cooling, use tempering at 150~ 220C.The quenching deformation of the workpiece can be reduced by lowering the quenching temperature on one side. On the other hand, the residual austenitic volume in the permeable layer is slightly reduced and the surface hardness is slightly increased, but the austenitic grain does not change.
According to the critical hardenability curve of 5CrNiMo die steel, the oil quenching of 5CrNiMo hot die steel can meet the requirements.
USES:
It is suitable for manufacturing various shapes with complex shapes, large impact load, low working temperature, >400mm side length of large and medium-sized hammer forging die and edge cutting die.The use of large-scale professional heat treatment to obtain the best steel prehardening effect, hardness uniform distribution.
